Return-To-Play Programs

“My name’s Jamie Murray. I’m coming off my second year of professional hockey this season with the Norfolk Admirals. Just had left hip surgery a few months ago. I’ve been working with these guys at Peak for pretty much the whole summer now. Feeling better than ever! Feeling as good as I ever have, and these guys are the best!”

At Peak Physical Therapy and Sports Performance we utilize a 5 -Step Program to help Athletes stay healthy, rehabilitate, and return to their sport.  It doesn’t matter if you’re new to athletics, a weekend warrior, or a professional athlete. At Peak we’ll help you get back to playing the sport you love, safer and stronger than ever!

Prevention- Through our Athletic Partnership Program we offer Free educational seminars to schools and clubs to help prevent injuries before they occur. These include anything from classes on how to properly stretch to concussion management. We believe prevention is key to keeping athletes playing safely.

Evaluation- If an injury occurs Peak is on the front line to properly evaluate and assess the injury. We offer Free injury screenings at any of our locations. These assessments will give the athlete a quick indication whether they need physical therapy, need to see an orthopedist, or simply need to perform a few basic exercises.

We also have Certified Athletic Trainers at local High Schools who are on-site when an injury occurs. These ATC’s are highly skilled in injury management and can help direct the athlete and parent to the proper course of care immediately.

Rehabilitation- If an injury requires Physical Therapy our Direct Access clinics will get the athlete started without delay.  Our highly skilled therapists and state-of-the-art facilities will get the athlete back to their sport quickly and safely.

Re-Integration- When an athlete is nearing the end of their physical therapy we don’t stop there. Our athletes will be put through a rigorous return-to-sport program. Our Hanover clinic is in a sports complex with full access to turf and hard courts. We’ll design a sport-specific program to make sure the athlete is truly ready to return to the sport they play. We will communicate these findings with the athletes’ parents, doctors, athletic trainers, and coaches to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Continuation- Performance doesn’t end when Physical Therapy ends. We will offer the athlete opportunities to continue their progress and performance after they’re discharged from our care. This may be in the form of an intensive computerized home program or working with a sports performance personal trainer.
